Ok disaster is a strong word disappointment would be far more apt. My 67 bush fires content was just too grainy to use at any reasonable scale. It worked just fine on a small scale but the quality of the footage was too distracting it took you out of the moment.
I also questioned whether the footage was only powerful for me. It would be almost impossible for me to be objective about it, and im not sure others I showed it were objective either as they could sense my attachment with it. Maybe I need to find less empathic critics.
I did try to clean up the footage but that made it worse, and the issues as mentioned above made me drop the idea. (at least for now and for this concept, one day I will use it).
One positive that came out of this work was when I found my Kinect “shadow” becoming incorporated with the imagery, that was interesting it felt like I was part of the image, almost as if I was watching over my family.
This idea needed exploring now but I need some new imagery.
