The basis of this semester will be exploring the Kinect.
For those not in the know, the Microsoft Kinect is an input device the the x-Box360. It allows players to play games (interact with the games console) with out the need of a handheld controller. You just stand infront of the screen and use you body waving jumping gestures etc to play the game.
Some people argue that this is the future of human computer interaction.(I think there is a fair way to go yet) The hacking community has taken to the device as fantastically powerful device that opens up a huge range of new possibilities for interaction. These hackings intrest me far more that the handful of uninspiring games available.
So with this new piece of technology still fresh with its promise of the futureI will be exploring the Kinect, just like someone else may choose to explore charcoals.
