Matt Daniels E-Media 3 Semester 1 - exploration of Kinect motion sensor - generative art

Stills from generative works

seeing depth – watching a space

Images are gererated from the depth data captured by the Kinect. The images build slowly over time giving more solidity to stationary objects.
These images will lead my second semesters work, creating an installation around the system that generated them.

Depth data is used to peel through frames of video. The depth values cause image segments from frames futher along the timeline to be exposed

Muybridge Distractions

thoughts on the texture of movement

A tangent of discovery where imagery-sourced information from Edward Muybridges work, is treated in a similar way to my depth based work.
This is still exploring the idea of converting given image data to imagery, in this case exploring movement rather than depth.
